"360º Life" Book Review

Billy Joe Daugherty, the author of 360º Life passed away last November while authoring the final chapters of this book. His wife, four children, and 17,000 member church gave some evidence of a life well lived. Unknowing it was his final days on earth he penned “ten ways you can live more richly, deeply, fully”. "I Told You So"

Nearly 2 months ago on March 2nd I predicted that the San Francisco 49ers would select an Offensive Tackle and a Guard in the 1st round. I was right! And I was at the official 49ers’ draft part to witness it. Now, if only I could get a million bucks a year for my gift… [...]

The Sacrificing Homeless Church

He mentioned God’s been doing incredible things, including a recent jump in his weekly attendance to over 200 homeless people! He doesn’t attribute the climb in attendance to a program, strategy, or model. Instead, he said God has been blessing his church [...]

Who Goes to District Council

For the past couple days I’ve been at the Northern California/Nevada Assemblies of God’s District Council. Each year I’ve come, I’ve noticed that there’s a couple different groups of people: Business Junkies. These are the ones who are in every business meeting as if it’s their birthright. They take their voting responsibilities very, very seriously. [...]

Teenage Truths II

Tonight I (re)discovered a couple more teenage truths tonight: Teenagers love marking their spot. Sure they don’t pee on trees (well…), but if given the chance they will make sure the world knows they were there. Graffiti, etching their names on desks, and hacking into their pastor’s facebook: Teenagers move in packs. Bathrooms, assignments, homework… [...]

Take 10 Challenge: Scripture

I mentioned a couple weeks that we started a “Take 10 Challenge” for my students at Central Student Ministries to “master the spiritual disciplines”. So far, it has worked really, really well. My mentor wrote recently that it’s tempting to be method-driven to find results, when in reality Jesus is the difference-maker. That’s the idea [...]
